This peanut butter pie, created from a recipe in a southern women’s club cookbook that found its way into my mother’s kitchen, cools on my counter. Pie people will tell you that it’s all about the crust, and the Hannigans were pie people going back several generations. No lard, no butter, no shortening. Just flour, salt, oil, and milk.
