Places I can barely imagine:
- America before strip malls and highways.
- A night sky with no ambient haze at all.
- The ancient Appalachian forests, before European settlers cut everything down.
- Clean rivers. Really, any clean river would do.
- The Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of New England and Canada, teeming with fish.
I want these all to be reality.

That’s sad. I knew clean rivers – that we could camp beside and drink the water and it was clear and cold and delicious. Then overseas travellers brought giardia, and then later dairy prices went up and rivers became affected. Sigh.
Also – one of the reasons I ADORE being on safari in South Africa were the skies. Huge, crystal clear, sparkling.
